BLS9 – Happy New Year!

BLS9 – Happy New Year!

I’ve gotten a lot of emails this past while about year end reviews, questions to consider, goal-setting tips, and so on. How about you?

Do you have any particular process that you use to start a new year?

I don’t anymore. Not because I don’t think it’s important, it’s just that I do regular reviews and updates throughout the year.

Since I am always keeping an eye open for the latest new ideas that I can learn from and share with others, I just adjust my daily journal accordingly when I find ones I want to try out. It has made taking action on those ideas a whole lot easier.

So I thought today I would briefly share the system I use to plan, organize, and track what I do with my days.

It’s been over a year and a half ago that I was introduced to an app called Obsidian. It, as well as some other apps, are sometimes called a Second Brain – do a search for that, or you can start here – https://www.buildingasecondbrain.com. Then check out this link – https://clickup.com/blog/second-brain-apps/ – or just do a search for “second brain apps” to see what is available. Take the time to do some thinking about what kind of things you want this to do for you and what features suit you best.

What I know is boy, do I love my Obsidian! It has made my work so much easier and so much more fun! I do almost all my work stuff and a lot of my personal stuff on Obsidian and what I absolutely love about it is that I can click from one thing to another so easily.

So for example, I have a page for my daily journal where I have a checklist of the things that are part of my everyday life, along with any current projects I am working on. From that page I’ve set it up so I can link to everything that I am working on. It is definitely Grand Central for my life!

At some point I will probably do a video to demonstrate how I use this, but I thought for today I would at least put the bug in your ear and get you thinking about some possibilities.

So here’s wishing you a very exciting and wonderful year as you begin to explore what it means for you to find and live YOUR Best Life.
